Hello,
I am U.S. Army Recruiter SSG Lee Ho Yong (μ΄νΈμ©).
I am currently stationed at the Fairfax Recruiting Center in Virginia, assisting applicants with U.S. Army enlistment throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. (DMV area), as well as applicants across the United States.
Both English and Korean consultations are available.
(Bilingual U.S. Army Recruiter β English & Korean)
I do not want to be a recruiter who simply focuses on getting enlistment contracts.
I believe joining the U.S. Army is not just choosing a job β it is an important life decision that can affect a personβs:
Career direction
Family life
Education and tuition benefits
Healthcare and overall benefits
Future after obtaining citizenship
Long-term stability
Because of this, I believe honest and realistic guidance is more important than simply talking only about the positives.
My goal is to provide guidance based on each individualβs unique situation, so applicants can make informed decisions with confidence.
I focus on explaining benefits and opportunities that are realistically available to each applicant.
U.S. Army benefits can vary depending on several factors, including:
Contract type
MOS (Military Occupational Specialty / Job)
Education level
Citizenship or Green Card status
Medical history
Individual qualifications
Rather than making broad promises, I strive to provide accurate information based on what is actually possible for each personβs situation and eligibility.
Not every situation is the same.
If there is something that requires additional verification or confirmation, I believe it is important to check the facts first and provide accurate guidance rather than giving uncertain answers.
Military service can be a great opportunity for some people, but I do not believe the same path is right for everyone.
Whether it is Active Duty, Army Reserve, or pursuing a civilian career, I believe it is important to consider each personβs current situation, future goals, and personal priorities before making a decision.
Many people have questions about the differences between Active Duty and the Army Reserve.
I try to provide realistic and practical explanations about topics such as:
Pay structure, including BAH and BAS
Education benefits (GI Bill / Tuition Assistance)
Healthcare benefits (TRICARE)
Ability to maintain a civilian career while serving
Family life and relocation possibilities
Long-term career stability and opportunities
Military service offers many valuable opportunities and benefits, but there are also real challenges that come with military life β including training, relocation, and adjusting to different work environments.
Rather than focusing only on the positives, I believe it is important to provide a realistic understanding of what military life can actually look like.
The U.S. Army offers a wide range of career fields, including:
IT
Medical
Aviation
Intelligence
Logistics
Administration
And many more
I do not believe the military should be presented as a βlast resort.β
For many people, it can be a realistic path toward education benefits, technical skills, career stability, leadership experience, and long-term personal growth.
Today, we live in a time where people can easily access information through AI and the internet.
However, when it comes to the actual enlistment process, I believe the following still matter most:
Honest guidance
Realistic expectations
Trust
Clear communication
More than simply advertising the Army, I believe it is more important to become a U.S. Army Recruiter that people can genuinely trust.
I do not believe everyone should join the military.
Some applicants are a better fit for Active Duty.
Some are better suited for the Army Reserve.
And in certain situations, military service may not be the right choice at this time.
My goal is not to pressure anyone into signing a contract.
My goal is to provide honest guidance, answer questions realistically, and help each applicant make an informed decision based on their individual situation and long-term goals.

Army MOS / Army Benefits / Enlistment Information for Korean Applicants
I currently serve at the Fairfax Recruiting Center in Virginia, where I assist applicants in the Northern Virginia area.
Because many parts of the U.S. Army enlistment process can be coordinated through online consultation, I also assist Korean applicants from other states across the United States, not only those living in Virginia.
Note: Actual MEPS processing and shipping procedures are generally handled based on the applicantβs residential area.
Bilingual U.S. Army Recruiter serving Fairfax, Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. (DMV), and applicants nationwide.
